ISA Advice Manchester
ISAs are the government’s way of encouraging you to invest in shares and stocks by allowing tax benefits.
Stocks and shares Isas are different from cash Isas – which are just tax-free savings accounts.
A shares Isa allows you to make money in a range of investments such as mutual funds, open-ended investment companies (OEICs) and investment trusts and government and corporate bonds. This means that the investment may go down as well as up.
You can also buy individual stocks and putting them into an Isa this is known as a self-select stocks and shares Isa.
Tax benefits of ISAs are as follows -
- Do not pay taxes on the income you receive from your ISA savings and investments.
- No tax on capital gains arising on your investments.
- You can withdraw your money at any time (but some species have a notice).
- You do not need to tell Inland Revenue about income and capital gains from ISA savings and investments.
